Zongker Characters

Another one I never put up here from a while ago, it was from last year. My fiance's cousin wanted one of us to collaborate with him in designing a video game. Ended up being me because my Gil was focusing on Counseling Psych, but now he might be getting back into art, so any further designs for this game will be from Gil. The cousin gave us descriptions of the different "races" of his game, and I tried to do something original with each of them.

I made only one human race, even though he had given me a few. He had a tan race, and a black race, and a race with long hair, and then there were these lizard and bird men. And it seemed like he was confusing "race" with "species". Well I sure as hell didn't want to design a race of dark-skinned humans and imply they were a different species, so I changed the species as well on those in question.

My professors were kinda harsh on this one, they were criticizing the anatomy and stuff, when that's not even what I was focusing on. One professor told me to go back to life drawing class. Concept art just isn't well known or understood in the university setting.

Which is fine, because I hate most of the abstract shit that passes for art at my university.

This is also right when I got my Wacom tablet, so it was great in helping me get used to using it.
