Maya Alternate Still Life

The first part of the assignment was to copy, as exactly as we could, a painting of a still life. That turned out alright other than a few glaring mistakes, and some problems that took me days to work out - the UVs on my onions were just WAAAY out of whack for some reason - that basically means that when I tried to apply a texture to them, the texture squiggled all over the surface in crazy directions. Made them look like ugly soap bubbles. Frustrating!

Well anywho, after struggling to make a normal still life, I couldn't just make another boring still life for my alternative composition.

So I made this, partially inspired by the terrifying T-Rex dreams I sometimes have.

Well it got a laugh anyway.

Another student in the class had the same feeling, she was frustrated with the main composition, so when it came to the alternate one she made it look like someone had come along all pissed off and knocked the still life around. Ha!
